Need more info: what are you looking for? Type? Drink it now or later?

I can only speak to favorites for sheng, so I'll throw out Xi-Zhi Hao (under Sanhetang) and Mengku. Douji and Changtai are popular. Not that Menghai and Xiaguan haven't made some hits, but I think their productions are of a different class than the ones above. Essence of Tea is a non-traditional source, but a number of folks like their productions.

I second this post. Mengku, Douji, Menghai and Xiaguan are all very affordable as well and a good place to start. Since many of the individual cakes vary depending on your pallet, I'd recommend ordering a bunch of samples first. Yunnan Sourcing, Jas-e tea, Red Lantern, Essence of Tea, Puerh Shop and Hou De Asian Art are some of the places who offer a wide variety of samples.the_skua wrote:I can only speak to favorites for sheng, so I'll throw out Xi-Zhi Hao (under Sanhetang) and Mengku.
