Yixing Dedication
Now that I have more Japanese pots than I know what to do with, I'm thinking of working on my yixing collection. My question is how specific do I need to get when dedicating pots. Is one for wuyi yan cha good enough, or do I need to break it down to specific types of wuyi tea?

I think most people will just have one for Wuyi's in general, although if there's something specific that you drink more than any other then it's probably worth devoting a pot to that one. Just imagine putting a small amount of the teas that you're going to use into the next pot. It's not much of a problem between Wuyi's, it will probably just accentuate the roasted flavor more than anything.

Agreed, you don't need to get super specific. I forget who I first heard this from, but it seems almost like the ultra-specificity is just a ploy for Yixing vendors to sell more pots. That being said, I wouldn't go too broad. A pot for yancha sounds good. I actually use my yancha pot for aged non-wuyi oolong as well, but I generally try it out in a gaiwan first to see if the flavors are compatible.
