Re: Thursday TeaDay 2/17/11 What's new?
I have your chawan's sister! I bought the "Footprints in the Snow" from her, and had my eye on "Snowflakes." You're right, the pictures don't do the colors justice on her pieces.hopeofdawn wrote: http://www.etsy.com/transaction/43566378
The pictures for the first one really don't do the colors justice--it's very intense. The interior, especially, is an intense reflective golden color, which I had not expected. The artist is Mitsuko Siegrist, or 'ippuku' on Etsy--I think her work is pretty amazing.

New....hm.....a few new teas I still haven't opened, a few additional pieces of teaware, but those are mostly replacements/supplements for things I already have. So not much really different and new.
Today, finished off the Yamakai Shizuoka sencha from Norbu, and then moved on to a lovely thermos full of SeaDyke TKY. Very nice teaDay.

Ooo, I had been looking at that one too, but you snapped it up before I could even think about pulling out my pocketbook. I suppose I should thank you for saving me from myself!karmaplace wrote:I have your chawan's sister! I bought the "Footprints in the Snow" from her, and had my eye on "Snowflakes." Ok, something new: a random sencha from my chinatown tea shop, Wing Hop Fung. Since it appeared to be in the same kind of packaging as the senchas I got from Yuuki-cha--not a cheap clear plastic letting light in to damage the tea--I tried a pouch of it.
