Ever in the situation where you buy pu for the sake of buying. Maybe you have tried it, maybe you have not...

Anyone in the same situation?

No samples. Smell of the dry leaves is good. If I were to buy, definitely would not drink it....

I have, but it's usually either from someone I really trust, or because it's a special thing, like a commemorative cake from a tea expo, or something like that.

I've bought decorative teas like that hulu before too. I have a couple of pieces.

This happened to me on apparel stuff. After a few years of not buying, I still have too many shoes

It barely happens to me on teas. I think it's because I am already stretched too thin buying for the sake of drinking :D That being said, I have to double check myself, because I know people buy for the sake of buying tend to deny it and think they buy for the sake of using

I would have the tendency of over-buying tea accessories, but both luckily and unfortunately, there are not that many outstanding and affordable ones, most are either too cheap or too expensive. Also luckily and unfortunately, my house is too small to hold many tea stuff.

Back to the gourd, it doesn't attract me. I always think gourd is lovely. But this one is too big for decoration. Its drink-ability is unknown and I am not optimistic about it.

If you feel like to buy for the sake of buying, on taobao, I suggest you to search "puerh" and "sample", and buy samples from puerh specialists sellers with "diamonds" or "crowns" only. I don't know if the gain can justify international shipping cost, but sometimes there are good sellers giving out good samples (usually small factory products) and only asking for a shipping fee.

Yes, it seems quite big to me too. A tea shop here has it, but they don't offer sample. They said buy 2 and I get to drink 1 of it... :( The smell of the dry leaves is sure good. Very nice smell. I'll think if over the next few days whether to buy or not...

That pretty much described my only pu purchase. After sampling a new cooked pu erh and a new uncooked pu erh and finding them somewhat likable and interesting, I bought two cakes of each and stuck them in boxes in a back closet. They've been in there for 2.5 years now. I just opened the boxes and took a whiff, and they smell nice. Then I put them back in the closet.
