There is a CHAnge, thought I would preannounce it here and use this group as lab rats. The avatar option has been CHAnged to 100X100. The 20KB remains the same. I changed mine and it is slightly yet noticably larger if you are looking for it. So, if you want your avater to be 100X100, you will need to go into your profile to change it.
Many forums use the 100X100 size.
I downloaded a 100X100 photo for mine. If you resize your 80X80, it could possibly turn out not perfectly clear, but I have not tried that option.
If you look at Mary's new one, which is really nice, you can really see the difference.

I'm definitely grooving the larger size. The difference is subtle, but I think it makes the whole forum page look a bit more balanced.
