I did not see notches in the lid in any pictures I have got on net. If you have any links to such I will be grateful.
The lid nob is high as about my thumb width (2mm less). But thanks I will put my attention on that.

That is a mix of various stoneware clays. Because it was made for „scientific" reasons important for me was non porous of that clay.
Now that is my beloved teapot (7 days, 12 times a day) and I see no tea patina.
