I've been using my 40 ml yixing for a while now. It's very functional, in the sense that it holds just the right amount of tea for me, and it pours very well. Did anyone else purchase one of these 40 ml pots and use it for puerh. I'm curious to know how the pot differs from more expensive yixings in terms of it's impact on the taste of the tea.JRS22 wrote:I just ordered the 40 ml Shui Ping Zhu Ni Yixing Zisha Clay Teapot as well as a 70 ml Yixing Zisha Clay Red Gaiwan that Debunix pointed out. I plan to use the pot for the aged sheng and the gaiwan for the newer puerh.

I would choose a somewhat bigger size. With larger leaf pu'er, the pot won't even fit the leaves. Even 70-80 ml pots are sometimes cutting it close, depending on the shape.JRS22 wrote:JRS22 wrote: I've been using my 40 ml yixing for a while now. A little strategic wetting of the leaves does wonder for their flexibility in fitting dinky pots.wyardley wrote: With larger leaf pu'er, the pot won't even fit the leaves. Even 70-80 ml pots are sometimes cutting it close, depending on the shape.
I certainly wouldn't recommend this as an everyday pot, but it is quite functional for precious teas that you want to stretch a long way.
