After happily using these units for years and YEARS in Japan.... and being envious of the pretty much constant supply of perfect temperature water for sencha......... when my wife and I returned from Japan this time we made the decision to buy one.
We would have bought one while in Japan...... but there it is rated for only 100 V so would have lost some life expectancy using the USA's 110 V. Plus it would have been hard to pack into a suitcase.
So a little quick trip to my favorite Asian grocery.... and voila' :
Holds 3 liters of water at a time........ can be set to hold 208, 195, or 140 F temps.......... can be set on a timer to turn off and then come back on...... pumps the water into the kyusu or cup when the unlock and then dispense buttons are pressed.
At 140 it takes only 18W per hour to hold the temp.
NICE!!!!!!
best,

Re: Our new toy........
I spend too much time drinking green teas in the 150s-180s to be happy with those preset temp limits, now that I'm spoiled by that aspect of my Pinos, but the 18W per hour is pretty darn sweet. I turn mine on and off a lot to decrease the energy consumption and guilt generation.....JBaymore wrote:can be set to hold 208, 195, or 140 F temps.......... can be set on a timer to turn off and then come back on......
