No, I am sorry I forgot about trying it with cooler water... I still have enough for 3 or 4 more sessions of it.
Next time I'll def try it with cooler water at the steep times you suggested, churng.

Have you thought about trying a different vendor rather than a different tea from the same vendor?bcrav1024 wrote: Next time I think I'll try Adagio's Ooooh Darjeeling or Dan Cong Aria. I have some experience with Dan Congs so I'll have a better idea as to what I'm doing.
[And no, I don't know of any specific Oriental Beauty that I'd specifically recommend right now, so I know that's not a super helpful comment.]

Yes. I actually like a lot of Adagio's teas. I've tried a good bit of their selection.
There are a few vendors I'd like to check out, like Verdant Tea and Tea Trekker, but for right now I'm content with Adagio. I am about to check out the Magnolia Yu Lan Xian Dan Cong from Tea Habitat soon, though.

Quick update -
So last week I finished up the last batch. I'm now convinced my entire bag was bad.
I heated the water to 195 (again the water is filtered) and rinsed the leaves for less than 10 seconds... they smelled completely burnt. I let the water cool to about 180 degrees and steeped for a little under a minute -- tasted SUPER burnt.
So this week I've received my sampels of Dan Cong Aria and Ooooh Darjeeling (which I'm currently drinking right now), and I haven't had any issues with either of them.

Get something better from teamasters. It will help you understand what is bad Bai Hao and what is real.... It took me more then 10 years to find that out

Re: Trouble with Bai Hao #40
That's awful. I would strongly recommend you branch out. Tea trekker and the Magnolia Yu Lan Xian Dan Cong seems like it would be a great step up.bcrav1024 wrote:... they smelled completely burnt.
