Yes - the Varietea is the one I ordered. I couldn't pass up the discount either. Even if the Utilitea survives it's unfortunate accident I'm looking forward to the upgrade. I can move the Utilitea and some casual easy-to-brew teas to the second floor and drink more tea w/o having to leave my workroom.
Of course there's always the possibility that I'll be heating water on the stove until July..............

I bought a Chef's Choice electric kettle back in 2005 and for the money it has been one of the best purchases I have ever made. I would not hesitate to recommend one to anyone interested in an electric kettle upgrade.

You might also consider finding a good, attractive thermos, and start out with the water several degrees warmer than you ultimately want for brewing tea. I have a few Nissan Thermos stainless steel items that will keep water nearly boiling for over an hour.
