I wish we had a pu-erh of the month club. Where you pay a fee and get send a cake a month or tuo. Any recommendations to someone that does this.

to add to the idea... how about every month the club will split and distribute 10gram samples of say 3-5 cakes or tuos to try.

payment can be sent to a person who is willing to do the splitting, bagging, packing and shipping of the tea

I have started a Kuala Lumpur Project (KLP) to do this, targeting 2 tea a month (not only Pu, can be greens, oolong, teaware, etc). It is in TeaSwap section.

The idea is to introduce special, interesting or hot items there that is agreeable by general drinkers here...

I am not aware of any pu-of-the-month club. I think O-Cha does/did something like this for Japanese green tea?

Otherwise, you could get the same effect by just buying a beeng every month from a vendor...

But as for a dedicated sampling effort, with everybody trying the same teas and sharing notes (like odarwin mentions)... I don't believe that happens beyond the occasional OTTI effort (the last pu-related one was about 5 months ago).

Such a thing might be fun to try. But different people would be looking for different mixes of things to try -- sheng/shu, young/old, low-end/high-end, etc.

I could see getting together around five 25g samples each month, maybe running $15-20USD before shipping....
