Well I wasn't going to say anything, but since others have brought it up, yes, things on both the chat and the forum have been...I hate to say off-topic, cos not everything needs to be about tea, but I think you know what I mean.
As far as ITC, yeah, I'm bad about that too. I guess the problem is most of the time the chatters are all members.
I like the month rule, too. That we we aren't adding every other noobie.
wow, it looks like Chip and I are one the same side. I too would like to keep this forum fun but proffesional.

My favorite programming forum has a slew of on-topic subjects and one off-topic area where people can let loose and talk about anything. If someone opens a goofy thread in the serious section, it gets deleted. But pretty much anything other than totally offensive content is allowed in the off-topic section. That format seems to work really well. If this place gets so serious that we can't joke around even in the "Other" section - I don't think many of us would even come around at all...
