hey Chip
what would you call so special about it?
It has a really nice design :)

A friend got it for me from Horaido in Kyoto. He said he entered, saw it and knew this is it. I didn't find it on the homepage to read something about it.
There is something that could be the sign of the potter - but it is very small and hard to identify. Perhaps I can take a picture.
It holds about 80ml to the rim - but you have to fill in a little less.
It is glazed inside and there is a nice white spot from the glaze - you can see it on the picture.
In the moment it gives me some Gyokuro Suimei from Den's.
And I really have to improve my brewing in it.

ciao
Marco

Marco, it reminds me of Asian influenced roof tiles, layered on a roof top. I wonder if it was made in a similar fashion?

My PetrNovaks arrived, I´m currently training on brewing with both at once.

"Mini Japan" set on the left and "Quail Egg" set on the right side.
on first and second steep of a freshly opened sencha.

The filtering and the pouring seem flawless, the handling part is a little tricky at first but I have big hands and managed not to break anything yet.

Some pics were made with left hand so ignore the steamy appearance:

I recently got around to purchasing one of Petr's shibo sets (w/black magda glaze). Mine is 90-100ml, and has done a brilliant job brewing sencha/gyo, baozhong, Dong Ding, dark roasted TGY and a Sun Moon Lake red tea. A very fine addition to my teaware collection. Next up, maybe a matching yuzamashi and perhaps a small teapot.
