Hi, I'm new to the tea world.
My dad brought from China about 2 years ago a strange looking tea mug that I now know to be a yixing mug (with a lid and all). Are there any special ways to prepare teas with it? Do you recommend using it?
I hope I can use it, I'm not a big fan of (useless) decorative ornements.
Anybody knows the size of the infuser sold on adagio for the Glass mug ?
No problem. One thing you need to know about yixing is that it is a very porous clay, and absorbs many flavors from the tea you brew in it. So naturally, you don't want to be mixing of the flavors of a variety of teas. For this reason, yixing must be dedicated to a very small spectrum of teas. Mine (from the images above), I have dedicated to jade oolongs, or lightly oxidized oolongs.
