I bought some Da Hong Pao 4 years ago in Kuala Lumpur and enjoyed it so much (brewing very tightly packed, as per Abx's suggestion) that 9 months later on my return I bought more. Indeed, I bought one for Abx too, and a couple for myself.

I also bought an additional Yan Cha from the same company, which has been sitting neglected on my Yan Cha shelves until this week. In that 3 years my memory of which tea it was, has slipped away
I thought it was Shui Xian, but the packaging has 3 Chinese Characters.

The company that sells it is 'www.xiqiutea.com', a google search using the whole address results in it launching a site which will not perform google translation - but a search for 'xiqiutea.com' results in a search results list with a translate link, that when clicked does translate to english.

Can anyone translate the name of the tea for me? Compared to the DHP it is very floral.

Thanks, The Shui Jin Gui tastes much lighter and more floral than my other SJG experiences, I will have to try denser packing in a smaller yixing.

Yeah I remember this brand A few years ago, I thought their products were of great value for their prices. Then they discontinued the big pack products in China. Then they started carrying more and more expensive products with fancier and fancier packages. They seem to reserve the best products and lowest prices for Malaysia. And I know some other Chinese tea producers do the same.

Drinking the Shui Jin Gui tonight

8gm in a 170ml Zhuni Shui Pin by Gao Jian Jun

Very different to the first two sessions. Denser packing and the Zhuni have transformed it - into a more recognisable Yan Cha - less floral and fruit, more Mineral, Earth and Fire. More layers of complexity yet subtler than DHP and TLH - with a nice lingering aftertaste

The DHP is 406RMB for 500 grams. That seems like a really good price!
