I generally like the style and pour of the goosenecks ... but doesn't the water cool at a much faster rate in the spout [edit: or never even fully heat up?]? Thus the first water to flow from the spout could be a substantially lower temp than in the kettle itself?

Or am I just being too OCD about it?

We have this one (non-electric and I don't think should be used stovetop, though might work on induction).

It's a Kalita brand copper-looking kettle for pour-over coffee. Haven't tried using it for tea. It has a nice pour, though. My dad has the Hario one, which works pretty well stovetop or on induction.

zencha, your link to the kamjove in your most recent post isn't working, sorry...

If you pour out the water in the spout before pouring into your teapot or cup, shouldn't it be fine?

I guess ... a definite maybe.

Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you look at it) I have always had a more standard spouted electric kettle "show up" when I needed a kettle. So shelling out the extra cash was never in the cards really.

But I am sure the pour is very nice, and better than the standard spouts ... but I have always wondered about the temp.
