My antique Yixing teapot

by armin » Mar 19th, '12, 23:35

Hello everyone, I just got this antique Yixing teapot... I love all the imperfections and I thing it's a few hundred years old...

It holds about 20 cc and pours without dripping, walls are thick for it's size.

I really enjoyed looking at it and hold it for a long long time....

And again....

Of course I liked it in a special way, also this pot will be my tea mascot for certain gongfu brewing, or sometimes just a decorative item on the tea table or a nice vase for a snowdrop flower....

On the bottom has the signature... yes you are right: A from Armin...
I just made this thing before starting the pottery class so I know where I was when I started.... and it's made using slab method out of polymer clay...

Cheers everyone!

 As I was reading, I was already trying to formulate a nice way to break it to you that your pot was not an antique (or even Yixing). You got me.
