Translation please anyone?
Hi, This came inside my Yixing teapot. Can anyone translate? I would love to know what it says. Many thanks.

Re: Translation please anyone?
It's marketing speak - mostly about how great your teapot is and how the guy who made your teapot (presumably) is a 4th generation descendent of some Qing dynasty teapot maker.

Very Nice hand writingMarshalN wrote:It's marketing speak - mostly about how great your teapot is and how the guy who made your teapot (presumably) is a 4th generation descendent of some Qing dynasty teapot maker.

It's not a Yixing. The pot was made in Chaozhou hand-throwing method, by a studio called "Xiang Ji Tao Fang".
Re: Translation please anyone?
The difference is very obvious when you take a good look at the inside of the pot:

1. Chaozhou. They show small concentric lines as a result of the pot being wheel-thrown.
2. Yixing. They show signs of being scraped with wooden tools, in this case a semi-handmade one.
Chaozhou pots are also quite light compared to their Yixing counterparts.

Thank you for the info. I'm still a novice. Here is the teapot. Very nice and makes good tea, although i'm a little disappointed that its not a Yixing. I'm learning.
