-or houjin/houbin...I've seen so many alternate spellings it makes my head hurt a little.
Anyway, I found this little pot some years ago in a flea market thinking it might indeed be a houhin though the lady who was selling it didn't know what it was.
Since then it's just been sitting in my tea cupboard but now that I've got my hands on some gyokuro I'd like to start using it-

Capacity is ~100ml. Ok for gyokuro? I'd be very grateful for any sort of info. =)
edit...I'm sure I've got the seal upside-down or at least not straight, very sorry but I just can't figure out seal script

Wow, great buy I am sure!
For sure! Definitely go for it. Very cool looking houhin (yeah, however you spell it).
I am sure the crackles will stain beautifully as well.

My first guess would be Kutani-Yaki, but could be Arita or Kyo. Those would be my 3 guesses for origin/type.

Yeah, Kutani was my guess but no sticker or other identifying markings. Saw a sencha set on eBay recently with similar sort of dotted decorations listed as Kutani though.

Yeah the stamp says kutani (and upside down
)
I used to have a kyusu of similar blue pattern and used to have quite a few more kutani kyusu. But most of them were around 400-500ml and eventually I let them go. If only I could find one as small as this!

Yes, Kutani, in one of their signature styles with the blue and raised yellow glaze..... this is a pretty cute piece

Not sure if they're still being produced, but they shouldn't be hard to find. I've seen many wares in this style
