Arrived in Seagrove late yesterday. Started checking out pottery shops today. Barely scratched the surface. Truly staggering amount of pottery here. I think it would take weeks to really visit them all.
We found Jeff Brown and Michele Hasting's shop late in the day. Talented artists and great people. I just posted my new cup in the "show off your pots and cups" thread. I can't wait to bring it home and drink from it.

+1... times a million!

We've visited 3 or 4 times now, and every time we find outstanding people and awe-inspiring wares. We visited just this weekend past, in fact. We stopped by and viewed the pottery of Frank Neef, and Bryan had bought a couple pieces which demonstrate the 'crystalline' glazing, and I had gotten a coffee mug from Dirtworks. Off to see what you found!

The people we have met has been the best part. So warm and welcoming. My girlfriend is a potter back home in MA. The pottery world is a small one. There always seems to be just a degree or two of separation between her and the potters down here. I wish we had the time to get to know everyone.
We'll be back for sure.
A few more stops tomorrow and we are off to our next pottery adventure in Asheville.
When we get back home, I'll take better pictures of our collection. The back of the car is starting to fill up!

starting an album of my trip here:

Looks like you had a good time too, Paul.
We got to meet with Frank Neef and his wife then visited with Jeff Dean at his studio on our last day. Great folks.
Then we headed to Asheville and north to the Roan area. Pendleton and Bakersville, another area thick with talented potters.
We needed an extra month or so to visit them all.

And...nice Bruins shirt, Paul!
