Re: Happy Father's Day! 6/17/13 Simple question today, What TEA?
Today started with some Wuyi oolong, not so far from the traditional Ti Kuan Yin I used to share with my father. But these leaves are gradually losing flavor, so soon there will be something puerh, I suspect, and later an OTTI 13 shincha.
As usual, a little of everything finds it's way into my cup.

Started off the day with a 2012 Meng Ding Gan Lu from TeaSpring. Trying to decide what to have for an evening tea. I'm leaning towards something light, like the Kinari sencha. Perhaps some Ya Bao.
Have been ill, and though I really want a good yancha or shu-pu, I think a bodily rebellion would take place if one were to indulge in it.

Started with some Korean JungJak this morning. Now that I am back home, I am going to have some Korean Uricha.

Brewed the last of O-Cha's defunct Organic Kagoshima Asamushi. Very nice brewed as a standard asa, but even better brewed as a fuka!
Best wishes,

Today I'm enjoying Yuuki-cha's Sayamamidori. Out of all the shinchas I've tried so far this year, this one smells the best in a heated kyusu. Almost like baked cookies! Amazing aftertaste too.
Shame there's all those issues surrounding Yuuki-cha here. I really hope the company smartens up and sorts it out.

I never smelled nicer than the Sayamakaori from Yuuki-cha in the preheated pot, although I can't say for sure that there haven't been others that smell as good. I'm just sure that there hasn't been anything better than that.minor_glitch wrote:this one smells the best in a heated kyusu
But today the smeller is still only half working, so have to wait on the OTTI teas. Bummed, but I don't want to repeat last night's not so stellar experience with the poor Chiron tea.

Hmm, I'll have to add that to my next order. If it's anything like the Sayamamidori I'll definitely like it.debunix wrote:I never smelled nicer than the Sayamakaori...

Continued prelim tastings of OTTI 13 O-Cha Shincha and OTTI 14 Hakoniwado Shincha.
Talk about incredible aromas in a preheated kyusu, every single one of these teas from both rounds has created that, "I must sit down," moment.
Today it was Yutaka Midori from O-Cha followed by Hakoniwado's 88 Night and Kikyou .. we did a LOT of emergency sit-downs!

Working my way through 88 nights shincha from Hakoniwado. An excellent fuka! Wasn't expecting a fuka, but nevertheless it's the freshest, most fragrant tea (pre brew) I've ever had.
