I bought a new mogake yakishime kyusu. And now I'm pondering whether I should or should not season/pre-treat the teapot.
If it's recommended to season the teapot, what is the good way to do it? Boiling method (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9F8llnG2Bgg) like yinxing teapots?
I am grateful for all advices.

Hi, welcome to the forum.
Can you post a link for the actual pot?
Generally with Tokoname you simply rinse with hot water a few times and brew. You could do a seasoning with sencha or whatever you plan to use the kyusu for ... but generally Tokoname does not require all the seasoning of a Yixing nor does it absorb flavors and aromas as quickly.
You could soak it in water and heat the water to just under boiling, but I have never had to do this with Tokoname.

Ah, Jin from tokoname.org? Very nice kyusu indeed!
After a session or two of sencha it will be perfectly "seasoned."

Heh. I guess it is quite recognizable.
I start to season. Thank you for your help!

Enjoy!
Hopefully this is being used for sencha?

Yes! That is exactly what I've planned: nothing but sencha.
