Red blossom gaiwan problem?
I recently bought a jingdezhen gaiwan from red blossom tea company ("spring" version) as my first gaiwan, and it has been a pleasure to use. The only problem is that the lid isn't perfectly round and it always wants to tilt. When it is straight up and down it has a slight gap in between the bowl and the lid. Should I return it? If this is pretty normal, or I'm just blowing it out of proportion I'm sorry, but like I said, This is my first gaiwan, and I'm pretty new to this.

Oddly enough but something like this is actually desired. That slight gap when you line it up with the direction you are going to pour helps you pour it better. But then again photos would be helpful to judge. There is a fine line between helpful, and poorly made.

I found this blog post to be enlightening. Hope it helps. Adam has already hinted at the usefulness of a tilted lid.

I was thinking of that blog post when I wrote that, but I forgot the blog address, and knew it was associated with The Tea Gallery, which since it is no longer active, I had no clue if the blog still was. Thank you for finding that.the_economist wrote:http://theteagallery.blogspot.com/2010/ ... turvy.html

Thanks for the helpful information! The gap is fairly small. I'll try to post pictures either today or tomorrow. You have no Idea how relieved I am!
