Hey all, I just noticed my rss feed was being republished by some crazy site called TeaCritic.com. I expected to take a bite out of some inTEAnet crime so I checked it out and, lo and behold, it seems that Adagio is up to something new!
It's still very much in development (images don't seem to work, and there's no content on the index page yet, though it's clearly an Adagio site), but I'm curious what it will be about.
Check out my feed in all its glory at: http://www.teacritic.com/rss2html.php

I have Feedburner tracking my feed's traffic and whatnot, and it shows me when something suspicious happens (i.e. someone reproducing my feed content somewhere else). I don't care in this case, as Adagio clearly isn't claiming my content as their own or anything, but I thought it might have been like when Mary had some posts ripped off.

Also, you should all take care that any URLs published in your feeds are absolute, not relative to your own domain, eg:
/2007/07/wallpapers.html vs http://teanerd.com/2007/07/wallpapers.html.
Since TeaCritic is pulling your feed into its own page/domain, your relative links are now broken. This is generally a good idea in RSS anyway, you don't know what the end user is going to do with it, and they likely won't understand your relative link.
Rock on, tea buddies.

TeaCritic beta
We've put putting in a bit of work on our latest baby Teacritic. We're not ready to launch it yet, but we wanted to give TeaChat members a sneak peak under the hood.
The basic idea is to provide a shared space for the plethora of online tea blogs. We do our fair share of reading these ourselves, but find it a bit tedious to jump from site to site, and having these all in an RSS feed just didn't cut it for us.
TeaCritic will allow bloggers to add their existing website feeds and attract a much larger audience than an individual site is able to. Once you add your site to TeaCritic, you simply blog as you normally would and TeaCritic will automatically include your new posts onto its home page. The site will also incorporate each blogger's individual AdSense account, thus generating additional revenue for those that have ad banners on their sites. TeaCritic will be entirely opt-in and you may choose to discontinue adding your content at any time. Please bear in mind that in order to do some testing, we have temporarily included 10 feeds that we found on TeaChat.
Additionally, TeaCritic will make it simpler to request samples to review. This functionality is currently being built and is as of yet unavailable.
We'd love to get any feedback you may wish to share and always value your opinion. The current beta site resides at http://www.teacritic.com/

I am curious how a blog will qualify for posting on TeaCritic.
There are some ridiculous so called blogs out there that are pure commercial exploits and show no real love of tea. I truly find no redeeming value in those and always feel they have no objectivity.
How will adagio deal with this?
[Mary's Mad Mod Edit: I second Chip's concern...but didn't think it necessary to write a whole post just to say that.

I think we will limit the number of blogs to several dozen. We are obviously more interested in good content rather than having a lengthly list of sub-par sites.
Initially the sites will be added at Adagio's discretion, but perhaps we will modify this to include some form of user-voting in the future.

...lol...
Stop trying to get preferential placement.
JK, spacedude.
Certainly, adagio can do as they please with their property!!!
But as a reader and potential user of TeaCritic, I want both quality and credibility. I am also certain that adagio will deliver both, but it never hurts to let one's concerns be heard ahead of time vs after the fact when it may be more cumbersome to alter.
