The problem with it is not that it's dirty, but rather it has clay of unknown origins and it's clearly fake. Sometimes fakes are ok, but this one has that weird black/purple look that suggests to me something is weird.SilentChaos wrote:Great Idea. I shall try that. Much appreciated for all the helpful advice from everyone.

Re: Mystery Dragon Tea Pot / Twine-node pot
Since this second mystery pot came to me the same way the previous did, I thought I'd post it here. Excuse the 1 twig and the bit of shu-juice inside the pot. Do also excuse the poor lighting and the poor phone camera.
Chop: I can't read the ancient style script as usual

Inside:

Whole pot: 340ml to rim

I'm comparing this pot to OP pictures of the dragon pot, and I'm going to put me noob neck out and guess that the clay might be alright for tea?

Looks like your pot may even be from the same outfit that made the crappy ones my mom and dad got, which makes me thing dad bought them in Taipei. Does the lid rattle when you shake it?

The lid doesn't rattle but it's not exactly a snug fit either. I'm not sure where in the world this pot was made or bought....was a pass down from some distant relative.
