Best teapot for keeping tea warm?

Hi,

How do you keep your tea warm after steeping? Let's say you steep two to three cups of tea, what do you put tea in to keep warm for awhile?

I brew one cup of tea at a time for each person drinking tea.

But....if I´m brewing tea away from a hot water source I use a vacuum insulated carafe to keep the water hot...I´m sure you could use one to keep a big batch of tea hot for serving later with one too.

if i am brewing black tea i pour off my brewed tea into a second prewarmed teapot. this will keep tea hot for quite a while, especially if using a tea cozy (a clean dish towel in my case). if you're not at home or want to keep tea warm for a long time, entryopyembrace's suggestion of a thermos dedicated to tea works as well.

Hello, I had the same question, I can maybe get 4 4oz cups of tea out of my teapot but it gets cold so fast. Are tea cozies pretty effective? Or maybe something else someone could suggest? Thanks!

I'm pretty much a novice myself, but for keeping black tea warm I use a preheated tetsubin (ducking & running) and then I wrap it up in the shawl I made. It was handy one day, so I grabbed it, bundled up the teapot and the tea stayed *hot* for a couple hours!

Sorry, for greens I got nothing but if you're drinking black tea I imagine any insulating throw should work.

Probably not the answer you want, but... the best solution really is to brew less tea at a time, more often.

Keep your hot water warm somehow, then use the water to make more tea. As far as keeping water warm, you could use a hot water boiler, a kettle and hot plate, even a tea candle.

Agreed, that is the best solution, but if you need tea on the go or don't want to brew all over, a thermos/vacuum flask is the way to go. I have a 300ml one I preheat with boiling water before adding my brewed tea to it. Left it filled earlier today and five hours later, it was still warm.
