Earthenware Water Kettle

by hop_goblin » Jan 3rd, '08, 11:19

Do any of you guys use a Ceramic Earthenware Kettle/alcohol burner for heating water. I just bought one however, I don't know where to purchase alcohol fuel or extra wicks.

You can pretty much get the denatured alcohol anywhere, but most hardware stores should have it and the wick is the same kind used for oil lamps.

Hope that helps.

so, it can be any denatured alcohol? I believe I have actually seen denatured alcohol at ACE Hardware. I just hope I can find the wicks! Thanks Deth!

You could probably find the wicks at the same place. If not, they shouldn't be too hard to source elsewhere.

Good luck Hop! I really hope it works out because using one of those things would be very pleasing.

The lack of fuel availability is all that has so far kept me from a very similar kettle. Thanks for making me jealous! xD

And good luck finding the fuel!

Ditto - please be careful! While at the hardware store please also purchase a fire extinguisher if you don't already own one. Keep it close!

Poor Hop, nobody trusts you with alcohol and matches in the same room.
