Does the TriniTEA make weak tea?

by andycr512 » Jan 8th, '08, 17:42

I currently have a cold and as such my taste buds are rather off, so this may be attributed to that. I recently got a TriniTEA, and everything about it is great except the tea made with it seems weaker than usual (using the correct brewing temperature, etc). Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just my cold? The problem is especially noticeable with strong teas like Irish Breakfast. I notice that a lot of really dark tea forms inside the brew basket while the outside water looks lighter; perhaps the tea doesn't have enough room?

My Zarafina makes weak tea, even when set on "strong." I always just compensated by adding a little more tea.

Thanks for the reply! As it turns out, it's just my cold. I made a pot of the same tea in my normal brewer with a kettle and a timer and it came out the same - tasting watery. Oh well...

Phew...glad to know I'm not the only one who experienced that. :)
