I think the steaming was a mistake, right? I'm guessing they meant to put steep. *shrugs*

I also had Ankit Lochan tell me to brew something differently, which turned out to be way too strong. I don't know how he can drink darjeeling that intense... That said, he wasn't as forceful about it as it seems the Rishi guy is being, which is rude.

Not only did Scruff receive instructions from Ankit Lochan (which, BTW, I also tried and almost choked!), but he also got to play host to Ankit and the owner of a another company coming close to fisticuffs over some perceived misrepresentation. You can make some of the people happy all of the time, you can make all of the people happy some of the time, but you can't make all of the people happy all of the time.

Oh yeah! That was a particularly gritty chapter in our tea lives. When did our hobby get so political?

I had read somewhere that this is why the USA is traditionally a coffee guzzling country, and we are the minority rebels, the odd balls, the ones that are snickered at in the work place.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

Well, Space, you're going to get my two cents worth.

Whenever you publish something, you leave yourself open for people to criticize. While I think that it might have been a bit unprofessional for the Rishi guy to argue with you, I'm not surprised that you got some pushback from someplace. When you get noticed, people get weird about stuff. Happens to me more times than I would like.

Complain to us, thank him for his opinion (your don't have to agree or elaborate), and continue doing what you're doing. Really.

And congrats! You've been noticed.

But yeah, I'd be pretty annoyed too for a bit.

Hey, that is right! When people talk, bad or good, they are taking notice!
