Supermarket tea?

We have a new Korean supermarket in my neighborhood, H Mart. I was perusing their tea selection and it's quite extensive, with Japanese Greens, matcha, barley tea, and the usual teabag options. This tin caught my eye, and for $2.49 it's worth it just for the tin itself.

It even has a plastic cap to lock out the air.

The tea itself is pretty much what I expected, just a one note punch of jasmine flavor. In fact, I'm getting a little queasy right now after a couple infusions, but that might just be from not eating yet.

Has anyone found a good supermarket brand that's worth drinking? I might pick up a couple more tins just for storage, although I'll have to air them out thoroughly before putting anything of quality in there.

Do not drink that stuff ... it is really nasty stuff. I seem to recall feeling sick afterwards too.

The tin should have a skull and crossbones on it!

I carried on with Twinings Gunpowder for years. It has a good price/quality ratio, although you might want to rinse it twice when you get to the bottom of the tin.
Regarding your tea, it doesn't look good to me for the mere fact that it doesn't say what kind of tea is it. I know jasmine tea is made with greens most of the times, but at least put a "Chinese green tea" sticker on it, for duck's sake! Unless that blend is made with almost nothing but jasmine blossoms, of course.

The back side does have some info, although I'm skeptical that following the brewing instructions would yield a perfect cup of tea. There's also no production date, so who knows how old it is. Still, it's a nice tin for the price, and the rest of the tea is going into a bowl for use as potpurri.

also had that one once, when i started drinking tea. as far as i remember it was not good. left it in the shelf for years, finally my father started to drink tea and liked it quite a bit and drank it up

Perhaps it ages well ... the stuff I bought was positively vile. One of the very few early teas that I could NOT drink.
