About two summers ago, a woman who used to post here ( long black hair ) recommend starting off with o-cha.com for exploring green tea.
Money was tight at the time so I didn't do anything about it until about a month ago when I bought one of their green tea starter kits.
I chose their "Sakura Sencha".
Previously, I have only bought green tea from local stores.
I just finished my bag of Sakura Sencha today and I have to say that is the best green tea I have ever had.
I think I will be exploring the Japanese greens for a while.
Re: Finished my first bag of tea from O-Cha.com

Japanese greens are my obsession right now too.

I'll probably try out another one of their senchas. I've only had matcha from "The Republic Of Tea", which people here have emphatically told me is not that great. I may try some of o-cha's matcha as well.

A nice bridge to the "pure" taste of a Japanese sencha is Sae Midori. It is a fukamushi and can be brewed mild or kicked up a notch.
Pair that with an asamushi to experience quite different profiles!

Ah yes, the beloved SM. It is my probably my favourite "high end" fuka from O-cha.Chip wrote:A nice bridge to the "pure" taste of a Japanese sencha is Sae Midori. It is a fukamushi and can be brewed mild or kicked up a notch.

Kabusecha is also a good choice. Easy to get the brew right, and it is on sale right now
It's been awhile since I've had it, but I really enjoyed O-Cha's kabusecha!

This is funny because I ordered some sae midori shincha and some kabusecha on sale as well.
