Thanks Devoted. I don't really want to get off topic though. Main topic, can anyone tell with certainty what clay the pot is made from? If the last picture I posted is any indication, I think Benshan luni is a good candidate. Is it actually worth anything other than sentimental value? Is TGY a good pairing for it, or would there be a better pairing? What does the writing and chop marks translate to? Any deeper meaning to the drawing (I think it's a person making tea)? Any more info that can be discerned is welcomed! I want to learn everything about my pot that I can. I've loved it for years, and now I want to dig deeper into it.

I wish chrl42 were still hanging around this forum...he would certainly hit the nail on the head. Anyway, ben shan lu ni is always mixed with other clays due to its high plasticity. If you haven't gone through this valuable thread please do so:
