Hey folks. Was wondering if I can get any help trying to identify a pair of yixing teapots.
The first time I heard about yixing teapots was from the recently opened Teavana store at one of my malls.
I wound up buying it around $20. The box they put it says it's from trYeh, a tea accessory wholesaler who designs their pottery and outsources the production to Asia. I'd like to know how authentic are these yixing pots teavana is selling or if they're just unglazed pottery with paint and branded as yixing.
Meanwhile the second yixing pot I found was last year at a yearly Japanese cultural festival. It was privately donated and sold by one of the organizations attending/sponsoring the festival for $6 or $8. Wondering what anyone can tell me of this little sweetheart.
Thanks in advance everyone. =)

Yes, the teavana one does not look like yixing at all. The other one seems better - might be yixing. The lid pic is helpful because it allows to see better the texture of the clay.
