Not that there is anything wrong with a nice asa, but I have always thought a good fuka was also good for you.sherubtse wrote:And they have a short article on the superior health benefits of fuka:

Thanks for the links, I was just checking Den's site.
OTTI?
Re: Den's "Official" Japanese tea topic
Sounds good, as I have never had any of their teas.Chip wrote:OTTI?

Re: Den's "Official" Japanese tea topic
On second thought ... maybe not. I have tons of sencha already, and more on the way.
I'll wait for an Assam / Darjeeling / Ceylon / Nilgiri OTTI.

You could count me in. I was going to place an order sometime soon. With regards to fuka, too bad we have to wait until next year for more Houryoku. I enjoyed that one, that is, until I ran out.Chip wrote: OTTI?
Were you thinking of something within the next month or two? The new organic they're advertising is tempting me, but I'd hold off if a Den's OTTI round was near.

Nothing is officially scheduled, but in speaking to Den at the WTE in Vegas, he was definitely "all in."

After my impulse chawan buy over the weekend, I broke down and ordered the Matcha Kaze and sampler. A Facebook coupon code got me $1.50 off. If this goes the way I think it will, I'll be buying one of those kyusus soon.

If you do, make sure and get that newbie sampler.Muadeeb wrote:After my impulse chawan buy over the weekend, I broke down and ordered the Matcha Kaze and sampler. A Facebook coupon code got me $1.50 off. If this goes the way I think it will, I'll be buying one of those kyusus soon.
Count me in!Chip wrote:... there will also likely be a Shincha OTTI next Spring
Re: Den's "Official" Japanese tea topic
So now 4 months later, I have 2 kyusus from Den's, the $5 special and the blue shincha. I like them both just fine and the blue one looks nice standing next to my Seigan blue yunomi. I've sampled quite a few of their teas and they're all good, except maybe the apple sencha which I can only drink iced.
Re: Den's "Official" Japanese tea topic
ah yes I was curious enough to throw in one of those with my first den's orders as well. Agree it is not a tea I enjoy taking hot and alone.
Blend it!
A small amount, with houjicha or genmaicha is nice. Iced or hot. Less if hot.

I should mention that the grape sencha is really good and I enjoy it hot and iced. I'm not brave enough to try the pineapple or rose sencha.
