I currently started to work at the Canadian tea chain, Teaopia. For over a year I have been eyeing the one Yixing they carry. Although it's price makes me wonder about the quality of clay and if it will be able to absorb the tea I wish to dedicate to it (Tie Kuwan Yins, I think ).
It's 30$ CDN, I don't know how many ml it holds but it is bigger than my 150 ml pot by at least 3 times. I am not aware if it comes with a card on the artist or anything.
Should I go for it (I get 25% off) or leave it and go to another shop where they are more knowledgeable ?

Re: Teaopia and Yixing
How serious are you about your tea?
If not too serious, then blow the $22.50 CDN on a pretty pot and use it as a home decoration if it turns out to be junk.
If drinking good tea is important to you, then you're better off investing in a gaiwan for TGY. If you simply must have a Yixing pot, look at Yunnan Sourcing for a good entry level pot. They have a decent looking Hong Ni Shui Ping which might fit the bill, though it's closer to 120ml-150ml in size (which assuming you are serious about your tea is a MUCH better size).

Re: Teaopia and Yixing
I am revisiting over three years latter.
Thank you for replying to me. I have since them learned more about yixing pots and types of clay. I got my first one shortly after posting here originally at Tao Tea Leaf http://www.taotealeaf.com . The owner, Tao Wu, has taught me a lot each time I visited for tea.
Where do you get your yixing pots? I enjoy visiting and trying other tea shops teas, and ofcourse, seeing their teaware.
