+1
'Brand' doesn't really apply to the chinese green teas I most enjoy. Region of origin (Fujian, Yunnan, Zhejiang, Nanntou), harvest (spring (and a whole slew of terms further subdivide this one), winter), processing style (buds, mature leaves, flat, curly, rolled, lighter or heavier roast), tea plant variety, supplier (company I buy it from)--those terms apply. But none of them are blended and standardized and industrialized enough, year to year, to have a brand identity, like Lipton or PG Tips for bagged black teas.

Long Jing/dragon well (premium type) and Tai Ping Hou Kui/monkey king (lol) are my favourite Chinese greens at this point in time. I never get tired of them.
Re: Anyone have a favorite green tea brand?
Brand is not really important for me.
The most important is the grade, cultured farm, location and etc.
Buy from trusted vendor, who can provide the better price.

I guess Tsuen and Maiko could be considered brands (I would call those my favourite)

If you look at it that way then Tsuen is my favorite brand, at least for japanese tea.entropyembrace wrote:I guess Tsuen and Maiko could be considered brands

hello!
so far my favorite is Marukyu-Koyamaen (for matcha green tea), generally because it is fragrant and creamy. I am quite happy with the few ones I have tried from this 'brand' so far... could not go wrong

I am still on the continuous search, I hope to learn more as I go along!

^^^I do agree that Tsuen is really one of my favorites too, the Manten from them was really delicious and balanced!JRS22 wrote:If you look at it that way then Tsuen is my favorite brand, at least for japanese tea.entropyembrace wrote:I guess Tsuen and Maiko could be considered brands
