OLD/VINTAGE zhisha teapot

by elps99 » Sep 29th, '13, 07:15

hi...

Newcomer here. As the saying goes, picture speak better than thousand words. Though I cannot share the process of tea 'making' with this pot, this is 1 of my collections.

Any comment please forward here

Nice pot!

The seal must be from late-Qing~ROC :)

Interesting pot.

Quite rare to see a Meng Chen seal, usually this artist engrave calligraphy behind of the pot, rather than using seal. The cover also has Chaozhou styling in this Yixing teapot.

Thanks for sharing this interesting pot.

Thanks for viewing

Whether or not this is authentic 'MENG CHEN' ...
I guess the debate will be endless. :D

Reason why I kept this piece is because of its AGE. Whether true MENG CHEN, this piece IMO'in my opinion, is really old with good work manship and the zhi sha is capable of bringing out my 1986 PUER ZHANG XIANG flavor.

Good attitute.

We are not born in that era to buy a piece then from Meng Chen to truly know it is authentic. Likewise for a lot of those who debate fiercely about it. Documented records can be also misinterpreted and have hidden agendas. I avoid really old pot for that reason. Too many fakes out there.

Your attitute is good, just share and enjoy it without all the fuss of its value, from appreciation point of view.

Hmmmm, I like those rare zhang xiang in some good aged puer especially if it is well store.

Have a good tea day!

Hi Edmond,

Your second pot looks a bit funny - and not quite what I'd expect from an antique, so to speak.

As for the first one - did you buy it in Taiwan?
