Tea House History?

by Justme » Jan 24th, '08, 08:44

I have an ebay item up and really had a hard time finding anything to research this. Although it's a fig barrel, I didn't know if anyone knew of a good online resource to find out about Tea room history.

James Norwood Pratt is sort of the guy to go to for tea history. He has a lot of published books your library may be able to get a hold of, but he also writes a weekly history column for the website T Ching called "Tuesdays with Norwood."

Thanks for the Tip!

I did actually find some info. I guess I just wanted to know more about her (Docia Conley) history. It just feels like a lot of really interesting history about people gets lost. I mean I'm sure she worked very hard to make her Tearoom special, And granted, she may have been known for her figs but thats what makes her special. It's just too bad I couldn't find more about her life. she was a entrepreneur in the 20's and 30's and also the president of the Professional Women’s Club in Los Angeles. Those were huge accomplishments for a woman of that time. I guess they are just bit's of history now. Anyway, I'm just ranting. Thanks Again.
