zojirushi water heater smell...

by silverneedles » Dec 8th, '13, 20:12

i cleaned this thing of scale (manually) 6 months ago, and have been putting unfiltered Dallas tap water in it. Now i noticed a smell from the water like a hot rice kindof. There's no scale and the water is clear inside...
What should i do?

Try to boil clean odorless water in it for a couple of times. When the odor remains, dry your water heater completely, put some coffee beans into it and put the lid on.
Wait for a couple of days and rinse the water heater with clean water and use it to boil water again.
Coffee bean is natural adsorbent to remove odor.
