Tea storage and preparation area
My job for the day was putting together a cabinet to store some of my tea things, so everything was in the same area and also reclaim a bit of my precious counter space (apartments do not give enough cabinets and counters). I'm attaching photos of my new area. Still a bit cluttered, but I'm happy with it as it is much better than before

Re: Tea storage and preparation area
Nice though a little over stacked maybe:D, but then again rather have enough than too little.
I'm about to move to a small house in the next few days and I was considering the placement of my tea things as well (over there i actually have a choice:). Where i am now I had the exact same situation!

That's a whole lotta teavana tins ya got there lol.
I'm in the midst of custom designing a "tea cabinet" for myself (then it's just getting access to the tools to MAKE the damned thing)
I have this idea in my head of one of those rolling kitchen island type things, but the top of it is a slotted tea-tray, and pull out "shelves" designed around the size of 100g tea tins

Seems nice!
I bet though that sooner or later you might want a shelf or cupboard that is dedicated entirely to tea.. doesn't have to be large, but, at least for me, it makes it more special. But we'll see

Re: Tea storage and preparation area
I just realized all the Teavanna tins.. and no.. that isn't their tea - once I found this place.. I quit purchasing from them, but do reuse the tin for a like/similar tea - if there is no aroma from the previous one.

For what it's worth I store tea in one of these zip pouches http://www.enjoyingtea.com/4ozstupzippo.html. At 63 cents for a single 4 oz pouch (they come bigger) you could throw away if they do become scented from tea, and possibly save shelf space.
Re: Tea storage and preparation area
This is my favorite tin, though I often leave teas in the original packaging if resealable. http://www.enjoyingtea.com/endolidtinca.html
Rinsing and airing out the tin after use typically gets rid of any lingering smell.
