Tenmoku video

by Senchamatcha » Jan 30th, '14, 11:06

I tried searching the forum both with search bar and by hand and I just can't find it. I am pretty sure it was posted on this forum... :( There was a short video (0:30 to 1:30) of a potter who was pulling a shelf of pottery from a smallish kiln, and you can see the tenmoku glaze forming! it was so cool! I want to show that video to someone but I can't find it :?

Anyone seen the cool tenmoku video and can post a link? or a similar video?

Search "hikidashiguro" or "hikidashi kuro" or "引き出し黒" .... not tenmoku. Kiln withdrawal black.

Oh, that does look a bit similar to what I saw, but if memory serves me right the pieces I saw being pulled out were on a shelf thing (I think there were three people + camera man, they all used those long tong thingers), and balanced on saw horses or a small table, and when the glaze was cooling and forming it had the black/shiny silver (yuteki) tenmoku color. unless my memory is just that bad that i mistook something like hikidashi guro for tenmoku.
 Well... it wasn't a video someone posted on tea chat.
