Does toucha or bird's nest pu-erh need to be rinsed?
A simple question: Does toucha or bird's nest pu-erh need to be rinsed, as you would with pu-erh in traditional cakes?

Yes
they are usually stored the same way and can acquire nasties. this goes for any pu, no matter the shape (including loose pu).
Some people forego the rinse, but I find I'm not losing any flavour I'd miss with a quick rinse so I never take the chance and always rinse!
