This is sort of a silly post. I got my package from Adagio today (with Mexican Chocolate tea in it) and lo and behold, there's a custom's slip on it. Customs? My tea came from New Jersey. I live in Montana. Now, granted, I am a few hours from the border with Canada, but the last time I checked, Montana was still part of the USA.
So, it got me thinking. The folks at Adagio know I'm in the USA -- it even says so on my package. So, where DID my tea go? Is it a well-traveled tea? Could it have visited friends in Sri Lanka? Did it go over Niagara Falls? Did it cross into Canada? Or could it have gone south of the border, like the tea's namesake?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Or maybe the post office workers in New Jersey don't know Montana is one of the fifty states?

Very interesting... you would think that shipping companies would try to stay in the package's country of origin/destination if they had the option, but maybe it did go into Canada. It's an unlikely explanation, but aside from someone in the post or customs just plain screwing up, it's really the only thing I can think of that sounds even remotely plausible. Did you ask one of the Adagio peeps about it?

I didn't because it seemed rather trivial. Especially when my tea came pretty quickly. Still, it leaves you to wonder what the customs tag is all about.
And it was the USPS. Which makes you kind of scratch your head with that.
