Hi,
2 years ago I came across Barley Tea ( in pre-packed teabag ) in a Japanese supermarket in Hong Kong, it turned out wonderful with exceptional flavour. Later at that period the particular kind of Barley Tea was gone. I tried two other Barley Tea being sold but they are not of the same good quality.
I remotely remember the brand was claiming to be uji barley tea as I've attached a possible one I got from internet search. I think the picture matches with the one I got 2 years ago.
Now I am thinking if any of you guys have experience with good quality barley tea which I could bought online? I saw that Ippodo has one but I am not sure of the quality and flavour. ( https://shop.ippodo-tea.co.jp/kyoto/sho ... cid=bancha )

Re: Barley Tea
I've heard people roast their own coffee beans... hard to adjust the roast level... also easier to just buy the finished product

Re: Barley Tea
Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't easier to buy finished product. And often when I do, I am not satisfied with the roasting anyway.gunbuster363 wrote:I've heard people roast their own coffee beans... hard to adjust the roast level... also easier to just buy the finished product
And there is something enjoyable about making one's own ... and this is just barley tea ... it is not a huge deal like roasting one's own coffee or processing one's own tea ... though many people do both to one degree or another.
Re: Barley Tea
I think barley tea is all about the same. It might vary in the roast a little bit, but unless I have them side by side I cant tell the difference. Just about any reasonable source should be about the same.
