In case some of you may not know, we do have an IRC channel.
It's not an 'official' Teachat.com chat room, but it's kind of like this 'hidden' forum in the sense that it's not openly advertised in the main forum here.
Want to be openly 'snarky'? Just plain crazy? It's the place to go.
irc.rizon.net #teachat
You will need an IRC client, but if you don't want to download one, I have an applet set up on my site already.

There is also a list of basic IRC sources there, if you'd rather a quick link in stead of hoping Google provided good enough links. I will not deny that IRC has a little bit of a learning curve.

The IRC channel has been seeing some use lately, and some good discussion happens over there.
Some times when the little TeaChat "Instant Messenger" is being trolled and/or the conversation gets.... interesting, the #teachat IRC channel is a nice escape while it blows over, as well.
Now, a few more of the regulars have been in the channel with greater frequency, as well.

Agreed- IRC is, in almost every way, better– plus, you can curse freely!
The only downside I see is the lack of avatars, but I think the other features more than make up for that.

Yeah, some of the off-topic but not "oh god please shut up" conversation might benefit TeaChat by migrating to #teachat.
In IRC, you can kick users who are just being punks, start up a temporary room to divide up conversation when someone's attempt to learn the mysteries of Oolong #5007 are being lost in beerchat, etc.
I'm not trying to slam on the TeaChat live chat option, btw. There are just times when it seems a bit overwhelmed.
For instance, while I was just typing this, I noted the following in the IM window:
# Anonymous - 1:43from TeaChat No tengo ni puta idea de que estas hablando, chicos!
# Anonymous - 1:43from TeaChat Et moi a elle
# Anonymous - 1:42from TeaChat Le petit chevre, Paprika, m'aime a moi!
None of that was useful, and some was vulgar.
