For any and all interested...

After a few years break, I'm taking another group, maximum of 8, to Japan on a pottery tour which leaves the end of June and runs until the 10th of July. This years trip starts in Tokyo before heading to Kanazawa, Echizen, Shigaraki, and Kyoto with a prime focus being on chatou, or ceramics for the tea ceremony. Activities include shows at galleries and museums, studio visits, a few tea sittings with one featuring a very avante-garde chashitsu and tea master, all while taking in some amazing scenery and of course the tremendous Japanese cuisine.

Please PM for further details!

:D

Wow Robert that sounds cool, I doubt my schedule would permit, I would however love a chance to meet up when you're in kyoto.

We took a field trip to uji today. We first visited koyamaen where we looked at their competition garden. We then viewed the tea being processed.

After that we went to fukujuen where we ground tencha into matcha then got to drink the results.

We then got a tour of the Asahi-kiln by kiln master Matsubayashi

Finally we ended our trip to uji at kanabayashi for a tour of their family museum.
