Extension cord with kettle

by Noonie » Apr 26th, '14, 20:07

I have a Bonivita variable temp kettle. The cord is quite short and I was wondering if I can use an ext cord?

You can (and I do). The manual recommends using one with a grounding wire. Basically, three-pronged instead of just two-pronged.

I may have the same kettle as you. Just wanted to say the cord is coiled up under the base and will give you a few more inches at least. You probably already knew that.

I use an extension cord with my bonavita travel kettle at work. No problem whatsoever. Does not hurt to unplug it though if you arent going to be using the kettle for a few days.

Thanks.

Wanted to use the ext cord for having a tea session outside on a nice day, or the kitchen table where there isn't a close outlet.
