Problem with my tea pot

by ktgw » Jul 13th, '14, 05:01

Hi,

I'm brewing tea in a clay teapot, mainly Taiwanese tea (Ali / Li Shan),
but have a problem which I don't know how to resolve :(

Few week ago, I had to fly urgently and forgot to empty the teapot from the morning tea leaves. When I returned home after a week or so, I opened to teapot, and realized that I forgot the leaves and everything was full of mold and smelly :(

I cleaned everything and even filled my teapot (several times) with boiling water.
Do you think it is safe to use the teapot again?
will it affect the taste?

Thanks for the help.

KT

Problem with my tea pot

If you search the topic there was a thread about this recently enough.

General overview: Boil the pot for 30 minutes and leave overnight to dry

Or soak in a bleach solution and boil until you get rid of any remnants of bleach
