Help with teapot/chop mark

by gao_shan » Jul 14th, '14, 22:31

Hi,

I'm a brand new member of this forum.

This is a teapot that a coworker of mine received as a gift from a colleague of ours on a recent trip to yixing. I don't know much about yixing pottery but I love oolong tea, and I have a bunch of very nice 2014 spring li shan oolong that I brought back from a recent trip to Taiwan that I plan to use in this pot.

I have brewed some already and it is interesting how it does taste different from my glazed gaiwan.

Anyway as I said I don't know much about yixing pottery so anything people can tell me about this pot would be appreciated. I couldn't get a good picture but it has lots of radial tool scrape marks inside. Interestingly, it has tool marks on the foot, seemingly from a wheel. But what I would most like to know is what the chop says. I can identify the last character as zhì (make or manufacture) but I can't seem to identify the others with all my internet detective work.

Thank you in advance!
