Hi there!
Here's a little noob question. I want to buy my first teapot and I'm not sure what should I buy. I'm pretty new to all this and for now I mostly enjoy japanese green tea and some Wulong. I mostly drink tea at work and we got an iron teapot there that fill about 750ml. I usually fill it, do a steep get the tea out of it and drink a couple of cups, but I read somewhere that Iron teapot are not really good...
From what I understand japanese green tea are better in smaller teapots like Kyusu. I'm looking for something cheap that will do the job until I learn more on what I like and don't like. ( Did not explored chinese green enough yet!) Should I go with a Kyusu or is there any better options for a starting kit? I still want to try Pu Erh, Chinese green tea... I'll probably want many teapots in the years to come but for now something versatile, cheap and not too small would be best! Any suggestions? (I'm in Canada btw)

A 6-8 ounce fully glazed teapot or kyusu plus a smaller porcelain gaiwan--something 3-4 ounces--will cover you for a long time and a lot of tea explorations. There are two basic ways to go here: buy something quite inexpensive and use your experience with that to guide your next purchase (e.g., decide you really prefer something larger or smaller or more elaborately decorated or simpler or with sasame screen or metal strainer insert, etc); or pay a little more for one pot that feels perfect and keep on with it until you find something it can't do, and then move on from there.
I recommend the first, because your brewing preferences are quite likely to change in unpredictable ways, and that inexpensive pot, if sufficiently versatile in design, will still come in handy at times, even after you've found your dream pot(s).

For Japanese greens (Sencha, Gyokuro), you can place an order with O-Cha and purchase a pot and some varieties of Sencha...and Gyokuro if you like that too (if you haven't tried it, maybe just some Sencha). You can get a Sencha starter kit and get a pot, cup, tea, and a tea tin all at a discount.
When you buy some other teas, look for a gaiwan and add that to the order. Lots of the tea vendors recommended here have starter samples so you get a variety of a small quantity of different teas to try. The gaiwan will be great for most of those.

Yeah I need to go there soon, but if I look on their website I find their teapot a bit pricey for a noob first buy. I'm in Verdun, Montreal there is another shop there called Cha noir, they got good tea but did not ask yet for the teapot prices.
